VDP.ERSTES GEWÄCHS 2023 HARDTBERG

Location:

The Hardtberg is located above the neighboring village of Dernau. Due to its southern exposure and steep slope, it offers optimal climatic conditions, similar to the Herrenberg. The soil composition is somewhat special in the valley. In the Hardtberg, there are transitions from pure slate weathering soil to loess-loam components.

Vinification:

The hand-picked and strictly selected Spätburgunder grapes fermented for 17 days in the mash tank. Malolactic fermentation took place in barrique barrels. The Hardtberg was aged and stored for 18 months in 30% new barrique barrels.

 Unfiltered, we recommend decanting.

 Tasting Notes:

Fine fruit-acid interplay. Typical for the site is the harmoniously integrated acidity. Subtle tannins highlight the pure, ripe fruit. Long and persistent finish.
