VDP.GUTSWEIN 2023 Pinot Noir J
Location:
This wine combines our best Pinot Noir grapes from lower slopes and steep vineyards in Rech and Dernau. The slate weathered soils have a loess-loam content. The vineyards are located in a southeast to southerly direction.
Vinification:
The grapes are strictly sorted and fermented at controlled temperatures for 14 days on the mash, without stems. The wine also undergoes malolactic fermentation. It is aged exclusively in used barriques. The maturation period in the barrel is 16 months.
Tasting Notes:
The Pinot Noir "J" has delicate aromas of red fruits. It is pure, wonderfully intense, and juicy. The structure is clear and exhibits very fine tannins.
Recommendation:
This wine is our "all-rounder" and pairs well with veal, pork, and poultry.
The meat dishes should be prepared with fine to medium-bodied sauces.
