VDP.ORTSWEIN 2022 Rech Pinot Noir
Quality wine from Recher Herrenberg
Vineyard:
The name Herrenberg refers to the Lords of Saffenburg, to whose property the village of Rech belonged and who owned their vineyards in this prime location. With its slate weathered soil and graywacke, the steep slope, centrally facing south with a gradient of up to 60%, offers excellent conditions for optimal utilization of solar energy. Here you will find the ideal conditions for producing elegant, sometimes powerfully broad Pinot Noir wines with high aging potential. The Rech Pinot Noir comes from vineyards that are not yet old enough for the VDP.Grosses Gewächs.
Vinification:
The hand-picked, strictly selected grapes are fermented on the mash for 16 days at controlled temperature, without stems, and chaptalized. Malolactic fermentation takes place during the 17-month aging period. For storage, we use new and used barriques made of French oak from Francois Frères.
Unfiltered, we recommend decanting
Food pairing:
Pan-fried meat, saddle of venison or haunch of venison; French raw milk cheese
